What should I do for my first credit card?
I know they have amazing specialty offers for super naive college students and I want to take advantage of that. I wanted the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card but it would be a lot easier if I already had a major credit card to begin with. Is their a site that has all of the cool cards? (Interest isn’t a problem, I intend to pay off every item the day of purchase, which is why I like the Angel Card) But No I don’t want annual fees, as my finance teacher advised I’d like to be a credit deadbeat

The bank where you have your checking account is the first place to start.

Yes, that site is http://www.cardratings.com.
If you are a student then I would suggest applying for a student card. (It’s important to note that as of Feb 22nd you will need a co-signer or proof of income to get any credit card if you are under 21 because of new regulations in the CARD Act.) In terms of student cards, I like the Citi Forward card. It actually rewards responsible behavior w/ reward points and an APR reduction.
I totally agree with your finance teacher. Be a deadbeat! Always pay in full each month to avoid interest charges and find a card with no annual fee if possible.

Yeah try findcollegecards. They work with students, and a majority of them don’t have a an annual fee. Look into those such as Citi and Discover, they should have the rewards, and everything you’re looking for.

Just about anyone can get this card. It doesn’t have a very high limit, I started with a $ 200 limit and now have a $ 500 limit after having it for more than 4 years.

My credit is pretty miserable. A lot of past due stuff that was paid off recently and a non-paid judgment and I got an Angel card O.o
Macy’s or Victoria secrets angel card?
I’m trying to build my credit history and I don’t know where to start. I want to get a card where I frequently shop and these are the two I came up with. I have no credit history and I just want an easy card I can manage. Prefer answers from people with experience from either card. Pros and cons of both cards will be great! Also I’m a college student if that helps

You’ll need a job to get credit
New regulations require sufficient salary to support any card

You need a job before getting department store cards.

Ok, since you didn’t mention whether you have a job or not….I am guessing you might work part time.
Even then, with no credit history, you won’t be approved for those cards. Your best bet for now… can your parents add you as an authorized user on one of their cards? This has to be a card with a good history attached (NO late payments reporting). Have them call the card co & find out if they report AU’s to the 3 credit bureaus. Some do…some do not.
If that isn’t possible, consider joining a credit union. Talk with them about a student/starter card. CU’s have more options available to folks with bad or no credit.
